Takers
you owe them nothing
Most people are takers.
They warrant neither your help nor support.
I have, at age sixty, learned this only recently. I am still learning it. I resist it.
I, perhaps like you, believe in reciprocity and mutual reward and respect. I project my ideals onto others. This is a mistake.
I will be as tough in scrutinizing my claimβgrounded in esoteric philosophy and lived verificationβas I am in positing it.
I have no leavening to offer. But I do have pure drinking water for those who want it.
