That's a lot to consider. But it makes sense, like you can't really be in balance or sustain if the foundation (conciousness) isn't developed/expanded and you can't really survive without some ambition. But I imagine a grounded mind without material ambition/money would still have value, personal degrees of peace/expansion... where as ambition without a strong foundation in a spiritual principle could be more damaging/dangerous ro the self (and others) .but you need some degree of both. I can see where one would be a better foundation to invest and build from.....

( .... sorry thinking outloud.)

This is fascinating, in the context of your recent post about money. Kudos to you for being willing to work these things through in public. It's an important conversation.

amazing, you must read david spangler - I can’t recall if you have - every day miracles. I saw it recommended in catherine maccouns book on being a modern magician/alchemy. also great. highly rec. spangler was a findhorn guy, I believe. but his entire approach to manifestation is highly relevant here β€” relatedly I recall maybe maccoun saying something like β€œbe the change you want to see in the world” isn’t just a bumper sticker for doing your part, but a

literal magic technique, a statement that would have been guarded closely in ages past as a manifestation secret. I know ur talking about more than just the manifestation piece, but still u must read!

This concept is fairly central to my magickal and spiritual practice, great to hear you talk about it! IMO It's also pretty complementary to Neville's ideas, which I also work with. To "live in the wish fulfilled" is to assume yourself to be the version of you that Is/Has The Thing/Experience.

This can be challenging for people because many don't know how to even fully access and feel their own emotions in an embodied way, let alone allow themselves to release into a state of fulfillment and completeness. It may require consistent building of nervous system and emotional capacity to do this (it certainly has for me).

For me, magical operations are often a great way to bypass the conscious mind and help yourself access an authentic, liberatory state of being; the pure "I AM," which helps clear out distorted or conflicting beliefs and behavioral loops that keep one trapped in old patterns, and thus unable to maintain the "state of the wish fulfilled. "The state of the wish fulfilled" for me is the me who is in total trust and coherence with my values and actions; I am not in fear or shame state, and thus I am much more able to select and find the things I want.

Thanks for this share!

What is that quote about being the change you want to see? We have to embody the level of consciousness before we can manifest in that level of consciousness. Otherwise, it’s just a karmic merry-go-round.

Most electrifying thing you've written in awhile Mitch, split me right down the middle. A lot to sit with.

"I sought the condition that I trusted would bring happinessβ€”before seeking the developed state or consciousness that would hold and foster, and, hence, make possible, the condition."

This makes me think of Pasteur's "chance favors the prepared mind" which Mitch has written about in detail about previously and is one of his "100 rules of effective living".

β€œSanhre observed that in spell work or setting of intention one must ask whether I am personally suited for the support and fostering of what is sought. Am I capable of managing and holding the wished-for thing. such as a relationship or better job? Rather than request the thing or circumstance, ask, really ask, for the ability to warrant, hold, and have the thing or circumstance. That assumes payment.”

This also recalls "chance favors the prepared mind", especially if one expands the definition of "prepared mind" to include coming to the realization that the ardently wished for outcome may not be the right one. In my earlier years, I had an overwhelming wish, a desire, which I did not achieve, and that I now see I could not have sustained, β€œmade the payments” so to speak, nor could it have sustained me. It took me a long time to achieve the consciousness , the "prepared mind" to know that. Like the somewhat humorous but dead true saying goes β€œthink of the things your bad luck saved you from”. And in no way should this be construed as β€œsour grapes” either. When I realized the consuming wish may not have been the right thing after all, the feeling of freedom, of liberation, was palpable.

Wow, yes, Marx and materialism. I was thinking about Marx this week as I got to know two new friends who grew up in (have escaped) Turkmenistan. It is a Muslim country, but Marxism has shaped their worldview in fascinating ways, ways I would not have known or considered .

I'm truly grateful for the uncommon openness in sharing these deeply personal moments of your search as your path unfolds before you. These words find me at a time when my own pursuit of- and often success in- improving the material conditions of my life have fallen short of creating the joy or fulfillment I would have expected upon realizing these aims. Perhaps it's time to focus on the 'other 100%'.

I've been studying Vivian May Williams, and thought of her while reading this. One thing she said:

"Individuals fail to demonstrate the 'kingdom of God' (a perfect state of Mind) because they do not accept the 'kingdom of God' as their own state of Mind. If 'the kingdom of God is within you,' then it must be your own realm of consciousnessβ€”accept itβ€”demonstrate it!"

The synchronicity of this is powerful for me.

I’ve been struggling with working on an overly ambitious and materialistic Animus figure within my psyche.

My whole relationship with ambition, success, fame, material wealth has been turned upside down, and the drive vanished for about a year.

As I rebuild a more balanced relationship with it, I see how aligning my inner capacity to receive and play energetically in the realm of material success is essential.

Not only do I need to play β€œmy game” and not just the collective one, but also I need to get fully open and clear to my inner capacity to play full out so I can live into my full potential. πŸ™πŸ»

Yes! This is everything. The rebalancing of Hegel and Marx is also the basis of Ken Wilber’s Integral Philosophy, corresponding to the Left (interior/subjective) and Right (exterior/objective) quadrants of his famous four-quadrant modelβ€”which is also, essentially, symbolized by Daoism’s yin-yang taijitu.

And yes, for that rebalancing to happenβ€”at this pointβ€”Hegel and the a priori primacy of Spirit must be given its due. (Which Schelling championed even more strongly than Hegel.)

I feel I learned the hard way (many years ago) about wishing for / manifesting things for which we are not ready. As a result, I became cautious about magic, afraid of the results. But now I’ve embraced it again and learned to be super careful in what I wish for, in exactly the way described, wishing to develop into the person who can / could manifest the desired. I’m also quite strict about selfish wishing, I try to keep my magic geared towards the common good, or if for me/my household, as a way to work towards what is good for other humans. I understand that’s not how everyone sees this, and I remain open to learning, of course.
